Diabetic foot and wound care at Brindhavvan Areion hospital is a wing that is unique in all aspects and that's what makes it an outstanding diabetic foot and wound care centre in Bangalore. For years, diabetic foot was treated by various specialist including family physicians, orthopedician, vascular surgeon, plastic surgeons, diabetologist, etc as there were hardly any specialist who had any advance qualification in diabetic foot/Podiatry. We were able to get Dr. Amit Jain to join the team of Areion hospital.

Dr Amit Jain, one of the India's top leading diabetic foot surgeon of global repute, who was earlier a consultant surgeon at St John's medical college, has been with us from the incipient stage of our hospital and today has been able to provide excellent service in wound care providing a huge relief for patients not only from Basavangudi, Jayanagar, Chamarajpet, Malleswaram, & Vijayanagar but also extended the care to patients from neighboring districts and states.

First of all this wing had started with just consultation which later became diabetic foot care clinic which further expanded as a division of diabetic foot. Today, the wing is named as "AMIT JAIN'S INSTITUTE OF DIABETIC FOOT AND WOUND CARE" in view of marvelous work done by Dr Amit Jain. This institute functions purely on Amit Jain's model for diabetic foot which is a unique model wherein the Diabetic foot surgeon heads the wing. This institute has a dedicated team and is headed by Dr Amit Jain, a global pioneer in diabetic foot field who designed the new the concept of "MODERN DIABETIC FOOT SURGERY".

Dr Amit Jain continued his research work and was able to produce 3 innovative work at Brindhavvan Areion hospital and launched "AMIT JAIN'S PROJECT FOR DIABETIC FOOT CARE" on 21st January 2016, and it is one of the largest independent project in diabetic foot. This project is in joint support with Brindhavvan Areion hospital and under its wing has already completed various camps. Seminars and recently did a large exhibition on diabetic foot. This exhibition on preventing diabetic foot problems was one of the largest in city and was attended by 318 diabetic patients who were chosen and preregistered.

This institute is also unique as it provides a super subspecialty expert care to all thereby making affordable to even a middle class and lower income patients who are covered under this project. Brindhavvan Areion hospital, unlike any other corporate hospital, is able to do its social commitment and service to needy through the activities of this Institute.

The hospital provides a standard and scientific way of treating diabetic foot and various other wounds that can occur in different regions of the body especially the septic wounds. We have taken a special precaution to avoid subjecting the patients to any unnecessary foot investigation or costly therapies that adds huge burden to patients and its family. We undisputedly and unanimously stick to the motto of Amit Jain's project of "SAVE A LIMB, SAVE A LIFE AND SAVE A FAMILY".

Dr. Amit Jain was recently awarded millennium gold medal award 2018 for his work on diabetic foot by the surgical society of Bangalore.

Apart from Diabetic foot and wound care, Dr Amit Jain, as a Surgeon also treats Hernia's, Breast diseases, GI diseases and Laparoscopy, Thyroid, varicose veins, piles and fistula and skin and soft tissue infections.

Dr. Amit Jain is a well known national and international speaker. He has been invited in various countries as a trainer for diabetic foot especially on modern diabetic foot surgery concepts that evolved in India.

He is a popular international speaker and has been invited to Dubai, Muscat, Qatar, Kuwait, and so on. He has also been invited to various state and national conferences.
